Tire Sipeing

Tire sipeing for those who dont know is the process of using a machine to cut 1/4" linez vertically across the treadz of a tire to add extra grip to performance tirez. Not only doez it provide more grip, it improves the tire’s treadlife by keeping the tirez running cooler under temperature. The service is done at Les Schwab tire centerz at $10 a tire. I noticed a big difference in performance, especially in the tirez gripping ability, after I got the service done.

I thought this was mainly done for ice traction.
I kind of figured that tire siping would cause the tread blocks to break off resulting in shorter life…

I had the treadz on each of my Toyo T1-S tirez cut back in October + experienced no problemz up to the point my car was stolen. I remember enhancements in my Teg’s traction and stopping ability in wet conditionz after I got the service done. If I hit puddlez the tirez seemed to hold their traction even at fairly high speedz. It made my already strong cornering ability even stronger at elevated speedz also. I would personally recommend having this service done for not only performance issuez but for safety issuez as well.

I imagine in the dry a larger continual tread block would grip better hence, azenis, A032R, etc.
