Tire Wear: Heel and Toe pattern. (Not heel-and-toe shifting)

searching yielded no results.

I’ve had my integra for about a year now, and ever since we had it there was always this slight pulsing noise at highway speeds. It was especially noticeable when slowing down on a smooth off ramp…It kinda sounds like the tire sound you hear from those huge tires on some of those raised pickup trucks people drive. that loud “wrr-wrr-wrr” sound, but on my integra its quieter and somewhat audible.

now its just getting a little louder and i can visually see the wear on the inner edge of my two rear tires. Running my hand up and down the wheel (length wise) confirms uneven wear. I would take pictures but my good camera is at my apt, and i’m at my house.

thats an example, but it pertains to truck tires, which obviously arent the same.

discount tire’s site says its bad caster settings. anybody else have opinions? How should i go about fixing this? a 4 wheel alignment/rotation?

I would suggest an alignment. Because its only like 60 bucks give or take.

And odds are, you’re probably due for an alignment anyway.

hmm i think it’s about time. 15k miles traveled in a year…and we havent even rotated them yet. Dad’s gonna drive the 'teg this week to work and get it aligned and perhaps rotated at a shop near his work. In the meantime i’ll be driving to work/school/apt with the auto civic… :frowning: but i guess itll be kinda fun cause we just mounted some new potenza RE06 (dont remember exactly) pole position HP all season tires. so far they seem pretty grippy and dont make much noise under turning. We’ll have to see.

just to update, my dad took the car to the shop and they said my shocks and springs were sagging too much for them to compensate (rears had negative camber). So i guess koni yellows and Ground controls are the way to go now…

its kinda bittersweet…i’ll have a nice suspension setup, but its coming out of my pocket! looking at 500-600 for struts/springs. Installation and alignment can be added on later.

ehh this car’s been a money vacuum since we got it. I know we have spent over 1k on maintenance. Now this is going to boost it up. Might as well go aftermarket with the suspension.
