Tire wear problem with my 93 Integra...

Hey guys,
I have been getting the run around from tire kingdom about a problem with my tires. I have michelin pilot exalto pe2’s, and they only lasted me for 4,000 miles. They said the alignment is fine, and that I’ve been peeling out and driving like a maniac. This is not the case, I have never done a burn out in this car. I mean its a stock 93 integra. The wear on the front tires is even, and now they are completely bald. The rear tires are barely worn at all, as they shouldn’t be having only put 4,000 miles on them.

Any ideas? The guy at tire kingdom said that my tokico blues w/ matched springs was causing my tires to wear out, but it sounded like a load of bull to me.

have them print out the specs on your alignment.

did they say anything about your toe alingment?

that sounds like bs(on their part). If you know for a FACT that you havent been kinda pushing it, then its most likely bad/deffective tires, or the alignment is OK, but still NOT ok enough to cause premature wear. I took mine in and they sed it was fine, but on the print out, the caster difference between the two fronts was HUGE. It seems like with enough city driving and bad caster, its quitt possible to have premature wear. If you KNOW its not your fault, then make a big fuss. Make a big enough fuss and they’ll probably just figure its not worth not doing anything about it. Just because you wanted your ride alittle lower and stiffer doesnt make you some insane touge runner.

They aren’t going to do anything for me, and this is the reason why: they told me I only paid 6 dollars a tire over their cost for them. Even though I bought their stupid warranty they are refusing to do anything. I am taking it in to a mechanic today or tomorrow because I really don’t have time to mess with it as busy as work is.

Take it to another shop and see what they tell you about your alignment. if it is indeed all to spec then the tires are just shit and they should replace them or upgrade them to another brand. I say this because i used to work at sears auto and if you brought back some evidence they would eat the cost of everything and give you new tires. It sounds like you toe is off if the tires are all wearing evenly. If that was the cas you car should be kinda sensative at highway speed. Also does your car feen any diffrent after the tires & alignment?
