i wanted to go with all internals or a swap
i have a automatic b18a1
wats the best swap for me
i dont want to hear go manual cuz ive whipped them
and i want to stay automatic
thanks
jr
go manual
With all seriousness, if you really want to and plan to make serious power, you will waste, I mean spend a lot of money on torque converters and other things in order for your automatic transmission to handle it. A manual tranny would handle the power and if not all you would need to do is upgrade your clutch. A manual transmission is much simpler in design than an auto and therefore less can go wrong with it. Plus they’re cheaper. BTW, do you want to stay auto because you can’t drive stick? Its ok to tell us the truth.
naw i like stick and i can defintely drive it
i drove a 3000zx twin turbo at 160mph
on the west side highway in nyc
the situation is i got 2 kids and a wife
and a stick will make me go nutts
plus thats wat everyone has
i like being different:cool:
if your car is full of kids and wives and groceries, then i think you need the torque of a b20z swap
THATS A GOOD ONE
hehe, 'specially if you have an auto tranny drinking up the torque before it can get to the wheels.
Ok I’ll do my best to help you because you’re not getting much hear. The problem is that if you want to swap your engine I don’t know which engines you can swap in that would mate to your auto tranny. Or if you looked for a complete swap that came with an ECU and auto tranny I’m not sure what you could find. Auto trannies are in low demand. You should first find out whether you want to just rebuild your b18a, which seems the easiest and maybe best solution, or if you want to do a swap and how much you want to swap out, i.e. just the engine or tranny as well. I know you can find a 1st gen b16a with an auto tranny but expect it to be weak, weaker than what you’ve got because they b16’s that had auto’s are the tamest of all DOHC VTEC engines because they have the lowest profile cams or something like that. You might be able to find a b18c1 from a gs-r with an auto tranny but I’m not even sure if you could get a gs-r with an auto. So, that’s about all for now. Do a search for torque converters and I think you’ll get a few hits. Just research and ask a lot of questions that’s how you learn.
I wish my dad was into fixing up cars still.
HEY WHITEYG2RS
THANKS FOR YOUR INPUT CUZ I WAS THINKING ALONG THE SAME LINES
I WAS THINKING OF REBUILDING SOME INTERNALS AND JUST GETTING A BETTER TORQUE CONVERTER
I THINK THATS WAT IAM GOING TO END UP DOING
AGAIN THANKS BRO
I KNEW SOMEONE IN HERE HAD TO KNOW WHAT THEY WERE TALKIN ABOUT
