"to bring us Hondas that . . . were too awesome for regular Honda dealerships"

I think we can relate to this if you’ve been around Acura since the 1990s.

Fully agree. I’m not a huge fan of the way Honda/Acura has been tailoring to the American side of things in recent years.

I would say an 04-06 TSX is the only “newer” option that I could appreciate.

I have been thinking about this with Honda’s in general. I loved their KISS approach to cars. While I haven’t worked on a Honda newer than 2000, I have to think those days are gone. I’m not sure they have had to add complexity due to more demanding consumer tastes, or that they have lost their way due to the blurring of auto execs and personnel from other American makes. Yes, nothing much stirs me from Acura anymore. After seeing the the latest Civic (what a large and ugly beast), I’m wondering if Honda has totally lost it’s way???

I read that article and I agree completely. Acura used to be the “performance” section of Honda… when a comparable Honda had a D series, Acura’s came with B’s. Just the presence of the NSX in the lineup… but now they don’t even have a coupe. Or anything with a manual transmission.

I’ve always viewed Acura as Honda’s luxury brand but with that used to come more performance and now it seems you just get the luxury. There’s very little soul in today’s autos they are just very efficient appliances.

The best new Acura put out is my daily a newer Rl the SH AWD, I have loved this car when first came out in 2005 but since I was a young kid at that time obviously I had to wait best sedan I know of personally for my price under 10k it is basicly a Benz with a Acura logo handles amazing a v6 Vtec with 300hp I mean what else is there to say I stay in mn winter was a breeze this last year but it holds up I would recommended this car to anyone who loves the honda/Acura and also has kids to haul around sporty but safe no complaints!!!

Hold on to your hats, kids… It only gets worse, from here. “No manual transmission”- by new U.S. law, ALL new cars must have “accident avoidance” by 2018. That means that every car manufacturer will be required to use automatic transmissions in everything they sell. :frowning: Heaven forbid we are allowed to drive our cars.

That is strait bullshit strait bs I mean whoops lol
