Good luck on the build man! You going to polish up the one pieces on your black car and swap them over to the white one?

[QUOTE=rollinmyda;2302545]Good luck on the build man! Are you talking about black housing jdm lights or the eBay ones? I would avoid the eBay ones. I’ve had them and the output sucks.

Phew! Thanks for the tip, I like the design of those but I saw the the ebay ones fade super quick, I wanna try an save for the real JDM ones, but mine are in good shape so not my priority. http://www.dashzracing.com/90-93-acura-integra-jdm-style-1-piece-black-crystal-housing-headlights-hd-op-ai90-1pc-bk.html But these were the exact ones I wanted but I’m very iffy cause I’m worried they may be the same quality as the eBay ones[QUOTE=rollinmyda;2302630]Are you talking about black housing jdm lights or the eBay ones? Yeah those lights are the exact same ones sold on eBay. They are cheaper on eBay though. Those lights glare like crazy, have dim spots, hot spots and are just overall really cheap. I would just keep the OEMs or get a clean set of jdm lights

Cool thanks for not letting me learn the hard way! I’m gonna jus try and make my own black housing one pieces, I jus have to figures out how to separate the lens and sand and polish the inside as well and tint the inner part of the headlight, hopefully it works if no then oh well… An unused, extra set of yellow hazed lights got messed up, but I’m sure i can make something happen tho, jus as long as the previous owner didn’t put some sort of after market type sealent which is what it looks like :frowning: [QUOTE=rollinmyda;2302633]Yeah those lights are the exact same ones sold on eBay. Separating the lense is cakework.

I actually have a how-to on separating and re-assembling factory one pieces. I’ll have to dig for it but, if you want me to sent it your way leave your email address and I’ll do that later today.

Yea please man! Iv looked but I only find the how toos for other cars and it seems to be the same concept which is baking it? [QUOTE=unified112;2302650]Separating the lense is cakework.

So a Lil update! I got what seems to be a fake bride seat, I got it from a friend to help him out but I like it, the reason I say fake is cause I doubt a 1200 seat will fade and this one did anyways here’s a pic
I’m sure this says fake in Chinese? I hope some could correct but I doubt it

No FIA Certification sticker? Probably fake…

But even real seats will fade over time.

And the oven is indeed a good way to open them up… but I never found a reliable source to follow as to what temperature and time to use. So I use a heatgun.

What’s your email address?

The lowest temp is usually still a little too high. I preheat to the lowest temp available then turn the oven off, put the headlight in, and check it after about 5 minutes. Usually it takes several trips in and out to soften the butyl and work it apart. If its not getting hot enough just up the temp a little bit. Usually you shouldn’t have to get higher than 250-275*

Putty knives, screwdrivers, and any other long flat tool you can find will make the job much easier for you. Maybe even an extra set of hands if you can get one. The trick is to work with it while the butyl is soft (hot), and be careful. Don’t try to pry too hard or you’ll deform the housing (it’ll get softer too) or break the lense. Also make sure all the clips and screws are removed before hand that way nothing is still holding it up anywhere. It’s not really hard at all, just be patient and use common sense.

Cool thanks man, ima try it on the weekend I’m probly just gonna buy a heat gun and do it the way tht worked for you! Thanks for the tip man!
I

Ok well im almost done with the headlight but I wanted to upload progress…

This is one with the first coat and one with 3

Them almost out back together, they look good but still old and not in the best condition

Oh no! You’re not supposed to paint the whole reflector, only the part that doesn’t reflect useable light outwards. You’d probably be better off try to drive by flashlight now. That sucks man

Uff well im an idiot lmao lesson learned… Again… Haha

Okay well guys I lost my job and need to sell the black one asap, so I’m beginning to swap motors so I at least don’t loose out, I already tried selling it with the b16 and ppl still wanna give me less then a grand with b16 or not so I’m jus gonna finish sanding it and plasti dip it but I have a problem… Wanna know if u can help me out? After reading a lot it seems that the b16 will run with the stock ls ecu below 4k revs, am I correct? And the black one has a pr3 ecu, how will that handle the b18b1? Would I be better off jus swapping heads? I jus need it to last me a week maybe 2 cause of shipping, of babying cause I’m either gonna get a phearable ecu or virgin p30 as soon as I sell the black one. So how should I go about doing this? Iv already removed and labled engine harness in the black one and removed complete front end

Hey man, I was going through some stuff and I found a pair of reflectors for the jdm one pieces. They’re not in great shape, some of the reflective material is worn off but they’d be better than the painted black ones you have. If you want them let me know soon or I’m gonna toss them. Just cover shipping and they’re yours.

Thanks a bunch man, I actually painted the reflector a high temp chrome type color and sold em, I told the guy off course but he didn’t care, I appreciate it tho!
