Too low, too sloppy.

I have a 93 LS sitting on Tein S Techs mated to KYB GR2’s, I put them all on around a year and a half ago. It’s a little too low for my tastes (there’s ~1 finger gap sitting on steelies and stock tires) and way too mushy. I realize some of the sloppiness is due to 18+ year old bushings but I doubt that’s the sole reason for the mushiness. On my EK, RIP, I had Progress Sport Springs and Tokico blues and was pleased with the height and firmness of the ride. Any suggestions as to what’s available for our DA’s that would be comparable to what I had on my EK? I’m not an autocrosser who needs 5,000 points of adjustability. I just want simple lowering springs and decent shocks. Thanks in advance!

i would do skunk2 coilovers on oem struts and just a thought u could use civic eg struts since ls are taller u would need eg struts fork as well

As far as I know only the rear oem struts off an EG/DC are shorter which still leaves the front. As for coilovers I would drive myself nuts with adjustments lol.

i only adjusted my coilover once and call it a day

I just have ksport springs on stock struts. Ride was sloppy and loose. I started replacing bushings 1 by one and could tell as massive difference every time.

I’m running Tokico HP (blues) with some coilovers and I love em for daily use. good firm ride corners good enough and doesn’t bounce excessively either.

Like Demolisher said adjusted 1 time and done.

If I were to look at new shocks ( as I inevitably will) it is a toss up between andother set of blues, or possibly some Skunk 2 sport with Skunk 2 coilovers.

So far this is some of the info I found, the rest I’ll be posting in a new thread.

What I had on my EK
Progress Sport Springs
Front 320lbs/in
Rear 200lbs/in
Drop (F/R) 1.8"/1.8"

What I have now
Tein S Tech
Front 212 lbs/in
Rear 140 lbs/in
Drop (F/R) 2"/2"

Just from looking at that I’m guessing the lower spring rate on the Teins has alot to do with the mushiness. Sadly alot of spring companies do not post their spring rates.
