Do you drive a B18A1 Integra??? I donāt drag raceā¦but I swear if you werenāt in Crapramento (smells like cow shit) I would race you in my B16A DA. You would see āgarbageā turn to gold. Racing is all about piston speed my friend. The B18A1 makes high piston speed faster because of its 89mm stroke and 1834cc displacement. The B16Aās low stroke and displacement make the piston speeds low at low RPM, but with its short gears and 4.40 (if 92+)final drive, piston speeds climb rapidly. The creator of this thread is a good example of this. On slicks, you can launch the B16A in the sweet spot of its powerband, and with the way itās geared, you will never drop below 6,000 RPM if you shift at redline (unless you suck at driving). This is why such fast times are possible with a b16A on slicks.
If your friend ran a 15.6 in his B16A G2, he must be a shitty driver, got a motor in shitty condition, have shitty tires, shitty suspension, a shitty 60 ft time, and a shitty reaction time. Youāre pretty ignorant.

The difference is only seven pounds in the numbers, but where the engine is making those numbers is whatās diff. The b18 makes it;s toque in the low-end, while the b16 makes it in the higher rpm range.
Personally I like the b16, pretty sure thatās the engine I am settling on. It was extremely revolutionary for itās day, and when built up properly can be a force to be reckoned withā¦
HCI just had an article in which they tested the strength of a b16 by putting it under increasing amounts of boost with all stock internals. They all the fuel and spark components, but left everything inside stock. With great tuning, they pumped out 422hp and I think 250ft/lbs. at 20psi before a piston crackedā¦Imagine with forged pistons and suchā¦
