Tough decision?

Hi I’m new here, I have a 92 Ls and it’s automatic(yea I kno) but the price it was being sold for I couldn’t turn it down I got it for 280. I just recently picked up a 93 eg sedan swapped with a b18 in it but the po blew a hole in the bottom end. The po said the entire swap is from a dc and I was wondering if the 5spd swap from the eg would go into my da so I can get rid of the lame ass auto tranny. Some advice/help would be appreciated, if I left out any info please let me kno.

I don’t think that is going to work lol, since you got it for so cheap spend a few hundred and get the correct parts for the swap

Would need a cable transmission from G2s since DCs and EGs use hydraulic. Also would need to source a huge parts list from a manual DA (which can all be found in the How to Articles). Be warned though doing an auto to manual swap is much more difficult than doing a swap.

Since I do not know where you are located for issues of rust and seeing you bought it for $280 that doesnt seem like a very good DA BUT i could be wrong. I say keep the DA as a daily and find a good long block for the EG. Then once you fixed that EG sell the Auto DA and buy a manual DA. Thats what I would do.

In the long run this will save you much headaches and time but if you want to do an auto to manual swap then its your call.

I didn’t think it was gonna be a direct fit I was just curious to see what else I would need to do it or if it’d be worth it. The only major issue was the body but I did the body work and repainted it Audi red over the summer. That was another thing I was thinking of doin is just have it as a daily and get a long block and body work the eg.
