towing

Anyone else here do any towing with their Integra?

I’ve had mine since fall 06, put around 60k on it (at 17xxxx now), and have probably put… 3-4k on it with a trailer behind it. Close to half the time was an empty 4x8 Harbor Freight trailer so all of 2-300lb, the rest of the time was with at least one motorcycle and sometimes two, sometimes on MUCH heavier trailers (uhaul shit is HEAVY)

On July 11 I’m headed down to a trackday on my motorcycle with a friend, and I don’t have a trailer so it’ll be a uhaul one - 1000lb trailer, 2 450lb bikes, some gas and other shit… right around 2klb total, which is the load rating on the hitch I’ve got. Oh, and this is 550 miles total round trip. Should be an interesting drive, I’m curious as to how much my mileage will suffer - I’ve gotten 35 towing before, hoping to get 25ish sticking to 55-60mph on the freeway.

I’m aware of the safety issues and leave considerably more stopping distance when towing than not, blah blah blah.

Anything you would do before towing? It’s a 5 speed, fresh oil/tranny oil, have to replace an axle before I go (or at least the mounts are good but it vibrates like a mofo on accel), fairly fresh coolant… anything else?

you will be fine. i pull a 19’ checkmate ski boat with mine.

i have completely gotten ride of my non functioning abs. when i replaced everything with manual brake hardware i used a prop valve off of a 90 civic with drum rear brakes. doing this gives the rear disc brakes more bite.

everytime people post pics of them towing boats with their integras i get a little teary eyed. looks awesome haha
