TPS issues on b20vtec

What’s up g2. Im in need of some help. I have a b20vtec with an edelbrock victorx manifold and an omni tb. My issue is I replace the tps sensor but could not get it calibrated correctly. I tried for 2hrs and it would not set to where it needs to be. So my car would give me a ccode7 only when im wide open throttle. I mean really getting on it. It would kinda hesitate then keep going with the cel on. Just recently like this morning it hesitated bad and now the cel is on all the time. Would it be best to try with a oem replacment tps or find an aftermarket one.
thanks for the help in advance. Ill appreciate any input

What TPS is on there now? Aftermarket or OEM? Also are you running an aftermarket ECU?

With some aftermarket ECU’s you can set the 0-100% throttle points without having to mess with the TPS itself.

originally wheni got it it had an aftermarket one and ran good. then i smashed it because of crappy oem mounts and replaced with an oem replacement and cannot get it calibrated. im running a p28 ecu basemapped for b20vtec

Put a volt meter on the red/blue wire coming off the TPS, loosen the 2 bolts holding the TPS in place just enough so you can move it back and forth, put the key in the ON position and move the TPS until it reads .5VDC. Then check it by holding the throttle open and it should read 4.5VDC.

I have done that. It read 1.something al closed throttle and 5.02 a WOT

It’s in the wrong position then. Like i said spin it till it reads .5VDC closed.

alright ill give it another shot. its been pissing me off lately with the cel coming on more often. hopefully i can fix it.
