k tuned all day every day…and im pretty low
Yeah, that would be the way to do it, use the OPM bushings. Even better if you fabbed all new aluminum radius rods to save a little weight. As for strength, does it need to be stronger? In some directions the stock piece will actually be stronger, at least the stock piece doesn’t seem to deflect at all when used as a jacking point, and the FR does, in that direction I imagine the boxed oem piece would be a stiffer. Plus, if you notch it you could reinforce as needed.
Btw, I’ve got a Full Race bar I’m selling if anyone is interested.
I don’t know if it needs to be stronger or not. I wish I was capable of quantifing that though. Notching/reinforcing would be no problem for so I just might have to try this setup sometime. I’m fairly certain no one is going to buy those spherical bushings from me, so I might as well use them!
Full-Race>K-tuned
If I was actually planning on doing that mod anytime soon I’d buy 'em off you But more than likely I’ll stick w/ my FR. It works fine other than ground clearance, but really the whole car performs better when it’s higher anyway, and if I started any front end aero the FR would no longer be the lowest thing on the front end.
can someone post pics of there traction bar installed?
want to see how low the hang, also if they get any chatter.
heres my k tuned
That k-tuned has pretty good ground clearance. The full race, as good as it is, hangs much lower. I can’t wait to install my Avid bar. It looks like it’ll be about the same height or higher than the k-tuned.
Bryan, fix that passenger side hood stop…
yea the full race is much lower than the k tuned! i love the k tuned and its gonna go well with my k swap coming up…and yea i need to fix the damn hood haha

I was also looking into getting an avid traction bar anybody have any experience with these? I’m also worried about ground clearance cause my da is pretty low please post pics when its installed.
Will do, I can say quality looks really good. I won’t have it installed for a couple months. I’ll be wire tucking/painting the bay before installing it.
it only takes about 30 mins to an hour to do, just do it already lol
Nah, I’m going to be overhauling the entire engine bay, swapping motors, and replacing the steering rack all at once. I’m going to do it then. No point in paying for an alignment now then again after the steering rack swap.
true, i forget about the alignment thing cuz i do my own lol
any chatter from that k tuned bar from the joints? Also has anyone used the innovative bar? it’s more specific to out cars since it has the front tranny mount on it.
no chatter and its been on 4 months now, lots of daily use and track use
ETD Racing Traction Bar vs Steel plate on the road
The bar didn’t completely break but its bent pretty bad. Its also broke my half core aluminum Koyo radiator.
ETD traction bar is tough ! I had mine for about 4 yrs and its taken a beating . I will be definitely be ordering a new one soon
Mine squeak for a little while when it was new but noise eventually went away. My friend had the Innovative bar on his CRX it look good. The only thing I didn’t like was its hard to adjust the radius rods for caster.
hey bryan would you say the ktuned bar hangs a lil lowwr than stock or just about.
im leaning for ktuned but also want clearance.
its a bit lower than stock, but not by a lot like some of the other ones i’ve seen…its hard to even see mine on my car unless u get down on the ground and look…
rite here you cant even see it…
and here u can see it barely just peaks out…now if i didnt have that lip it would be pretty visible.u gotta look hard in this pic but u can barely see the words k tuned…i say the clearance is pretty awesome tho…i’ve only scraped it 1 time since ive had it on my car
and yea i know my windshield seal is coming off…my car is just that fast haha
The Innovative traction bar is also a good choice. That is what I bought since I have their 95A mounts. Solid construction, lower profile than the factory cross member, and about 10 lbs lighter. Here are a few pics of it installed on my new shell:
