Yea, I’m just a n00b and my tranny grinds 3rd gear and it’s god awful trying to go into 2nd… so I need a n0000 one I was wondering what trannies would bolt up to the 1993 mounts? I know all b-series trannies fit to the engine… but what mounts to the car?

eric is correct. technically you can bolt an b series tranny to your engine. however the newer ones are hydraulic… and you don’t want to mess with that. So, just pick up a b series cable tranny (s1, j1, y1, ys1). And it’d be in your best interest to buy a vtec one because the gearing is shorter.
also, just make sure you get the right clutch for it. If you use a 92-93 tranny, you can use your stock clutch (however i recommend upgrading it when you swap trannies). If you use an 89-91 tranny you will need a 90-91 integra clutch to go with it.
Okay… so I’m gonna try to clarify and hopefully I get the same answer… u said any b-series tranny mounts to my ENGINE… Well what will mount to my CHASSIS without moving tranny/motor mounts… U know what I mean? I know the B-series trannies go to my ENGINE… But do they fit the CAR. U know what I’m talkin bout now? The mounts that hold the tranny onto the car itself… not the engine, but the car… Are they all the same in the B-series as well? Any B-series CAR will take any B-Series Tranny/Engine combination??? That’s kinda neat if so… Good idea Honda

i read your post, don’t worry, i wasn’t trying to ignor that part. Any b series tranny will bolt right in… yes to the engine and the car. Almost all the b series cable trannies out there originally came out of a 2nd gen integra. Some came out of jdm civic sir’s, but those use the same mount locations, so it still bolts right in. Sorry, i didn’t clarify that detail. It just bolts in, so i figured i didn’t need to mention it… and i’m not the kind of guy to tell you it’d fit and forget to mention a detail like that if it mattered.

Like i said before, if you use an 89-91 b series cable tranny in your car you will need a 90-91 integra clutch. If you use a 92-93 tranny you will buy a 92-93 clutch (as it happens all the 92+ b series clutches are the same… with the possible exception of the ITR----i’m not sure on that).
but don’t try to use a 90-91 clutch on a 92-93 tranny, or a 92+ clutch on a 90-91 tranny.
also, as something i should point out. when i say “89-91” i’m refering to the 89 jdm b series trannies. The integra came out a year earlier there in japan. So, just don’t get mixed up and think that a tranny from a usdm teg will work… because the 1st gen tegs didn’t even have b series engines, so obviously the trannies are different.
