Tranny question

Hello, I am doing a motor swap in my 91’ teg. and while I plan to use a GSR’s YS1 with my B18C swap, I always get asked if the hydro tranny can be used in the car in place of the cable tranny, and if so…what mods would have to be done to the car to accomodate the hydro tranny. I rather use a cable tranny, and I plan too, but next time someone asks me, I would like to give them an answer. So can anyone enlighten me if a hydro tranny could go in the 2nd gen with its corresponding motor, and if so…what mods have to be done? Thanks, and PLEASE respond! Mark

yes, it is possible.

of course the tranny will bolt right up to the engine, but everything else isn’t quite right. I’ve heard that hasport makes a kit in which you can use a hydro tranny in a cable tranny car.

but like you said, go for cable.

Hey whats up Colin! Dude, I just sent you like an email about that OBD-1 to non-OBD wiring harness. Later Mark

thanks for the email mark.

i emailed katman (the guy from jdmhondaparts who does the ecu chipping) a few weeks back and asked him about the converter. On the site it says its not yet available, so i asked him if he knew when it was gonna be available. He really wasn’t all that helpfull, basically he said he didn’t know anything and wasn’t associtated with it at all. At least he could have pointed me in the right direction!!!

as of now i’ve been trying to figure out about swapping wiring harnesses. I need to find out how hard it would be to take a 92-92 integra wiring harness and put it into a 90-91.

I know that i’d need the obd1 ecu, distributor, and injectors–thats easy stuff. But i’m sure there are more sensors and other stuff that i’d need. Cause i’m sure that the wiring harness doesn’t just plug into everything perfectly on the engine bay side.

Do you happen to know anything about swapping in a complete obd1 wiring harness?

thanks again.

All I know about swapping in an entire harness, is that I imagine is going to be hard as hell! Thats why I’m tyring for this converter harness first. I’m sure your right and that this harness will still leave me with probs, but I rather try this first then get myself into the whole wiring harness, ya know? Well bro, I’ll keep ya posted, and I’ll send you a copy of the directions that Kenji sends me, and a pic of the harness. Later, Mark
