I have a 92 teg automatic. I would like to make is manual. As far as I know i have every thing to do this swap (91 ls manual tranny, computer, shift linkage, some of the wiring harness, pedals, and drive axels if needed). But the real question is how do I do it. What do i need to diconnect or connect. Has anyone ever done this before. Can you help me? Also my automatic has alot more vacume hoses than the manual. Can I just get rid of them when i do the swap. Please respond.

i am working on this same thing myself and you don’t need the cv axles they are the same i will try to post when i am done.
im in the middle of this swap too. the wiring harness is the same. as shea has stated, the most difficult part is the pedal conversion. mine took me about 3 hours and a lot of scrapes and cuts. theres two plugs on the clutch pedal you can just leave disconnected as far as i know. one is for the cruise cancel, and the other is for the push in the clutch to start the car switch. after you get that in, the ecu is easy to change, you have to drill a hole for your clutch cable, and everything else is in the tranny. im not sure if you have to use manual axles, becaues im getting new ones anyway. and ive heard both ways on the intermediate shaft, so i wont know until i put mine in. the best person to talk to is Shea. Another thing, you have to jump the plug that tells the auto ecu that your car is in park, so it will start. theres also a few lines on the automatic intake mani that you dont use, Shea just plugged them up. Anything else i can think of i will post here. if you have any questions email me at b20da9@aol.com HTH later

I am getting parts together too. I got a 91 I have the pedals but there are two round thing with wires on it one is for the brake you can use the one on your car I thnik you just plugged your old one to it. the other is on the clucth I thnik that one goes wired up to the wirng harness does any on know. what do you mean about jumping the park switch how do you do that does any one know how to wire it all up I need help with that. oh my pedal asembly didnt have any crise on it. my car has cruise but it dont work so should I not worry about it. I need help hit me back my e-mail is smooth0187@yahoo.com or call me at 1-352-428-7069 my name is chris if any has any advice on the swap . peace out
there is one plug on the brake pedal, that plugs into the plug that you took out of your auto pedal assembly. there are two plugs on the clutch. dont worry about those. now the park safety switch, if you have the auto shifter out, you will see a little grey plug with two holes in it. you just have to stick a paperclip or something in each hole, so it completes the circuit, now obviously a paperclip will probably fall out, so you can think of a better way to do it, maybe just a wire and if you can find two connectors that will fit in the holes. just something to complete the circuit. HTH anything else post and ill try to answer. ive learned a lot doing this swap if i cant help you Ill email Shea and find out.
i have done this
it was fun the hardest part of the whole thing was the pedals the where a pain in the glass.
I Had never removed a transmission before did some research and i did it all by my self
it takes about 2 days
It Requires
-Pedal Assembly 90-93 cable
-engine Wireing Harness 90-93
-Standard Trannsmission form a 90-93 cable car
-clutch 90-00
-flywheel and the 8 bolts on it “17mm 12 point” 90-00
-half chaft for cv-axles the one for the automatic is slightly
diffrerent and won’t fit
-clutch cable
you need to drill about a 2" hole on the driver side for the clutch cable to go through you need the stock transmission mount for the standard transmission its right next to the passenger side tire the other is not needed the are the same
