getting a 93 rs.
I’m getting a good deal (car is fine, all records clean, some rich chick hehe)
its automatic but the deal is so good I’m going to take it.
How can I convert it to manual? How muchwould it cost? Would I be able to do it in my garage?

really you should consider passing up on the deal. auto tranny sucks. And the cost of the conversion is quite high. For the price of this auto tranny car, plus a conversion you could probably pick up a car of equal quality and it would be a 5spd.
of course if you’re getting the car for something rediculous like $500 then it would be worth it. but unless its MUCH MUCH lower than the cost of the typical G2 in your area then its not worth it to do the conversion.

yeah, it would cost MUCH more than $200. The tranny alone will cost more than that. Then you have to think about the clutch ($300), flywheel ($50), shift linkage and shifter ($40), ecu, labor… the list goes on. From what i hear its quite a length and expensive swap.

If it’s LS conversion to manual.
Tranny ($150-$300), clutch $2-300, flywheel $40 used, shift linkage $?, shifter $?, clutch cable $?, pedal assembly $? shift knob $cheap and a gauge cluster but that’s not necessary. You got to drill a hole in the fire wall for the clutch cable and put in the tranny (and all components) and the pedal assembly. I’m guessing around $400-$600 in parts depending on how you shop and I don’t know the labor, but if you do it yourself it’ll be cheaper, of course.

yah dont buy it because there are alot of g2 tegs out there that are manual. i bought mine auto which was cool cuz it was my first car. but now im swapping 5speed. im lucky i got a deal on everything i needed for 300 and other misc parts.
its not that not expensive well at least from what i know… som eppl do get ripped off but you can get it done for 1500 including parts CDN dollars so thats like 1000 US? if he is getting the auto car for about 1000 US less or 500 even than i think it would be worth it cuz the cars in really good condiiton and low kms… tht will reduce the likelihood of spending money on body owrk and wear and tear repairs so all in all it works out ok… if he gets a 5spd … chances are hell need to change the clutch anyways so thats gonna be new either way,… i dunno i rather get a auto g2 thats 100 kms mint condition for lets say 7000CDN and do a swap so itll cost a total of 8500… than get a 5spd that has 200 kms and not mint for 6000 or 6500… just mo though… i got my auto sedan for 6500 CDN at 105 kms and has been babied(since the owner was my aunt)… so i think all in all the car woulda cost me about 8500 for a 5spd mint sedan… think its worth it… but thats my thought… most pppl would just sell their autos but i honestly dont think i can find another car in the condition mine is… and i love the sedan! hhe
