Transmission swap from auto to manual

Hey guys i have a 91 integra LS and Im about to pick up a GSR transmission in a couple weeks and swap out my auto. Im new at transmissions but Im looking for a a sick set up. Should i swap any gears out? (I know alot of people choose different gearing for their transmissions), what type of LSD should i get (I eventually will track the car, its pretty much driven a couple times a week now), is the swap a hard job and what would i need?(pedals, cluster, ecu?? etc etc). If anyone can help me out it would be much appreciated, like i said Im new at transmissions but Ive been in the game for a while now so please share some knowledge!! Thanks!

Search there’s a write up on here an HT w/ pics

I’m currently doing the auto to manual swap along with a motor swap so it’s taking me some time. So far the most time consuming part I’ve come in counter with is the pedals. Some people say they’ve done it with out removing the dash, I just don’t see how that was possible because you have to remove a piece directly under the dash. I personally found this thread very helpful and I am currently doing my swap accordingly: http://honda-tech.com/showthread.php?t=2304301

Just checked it out, very helpful how is the swap going so far from auto to manual is it difficult ?

So far I’ve, pulled the motor, swapped pedals (most difficult task to me), and pulled the ECU because I plan on using a Manual ECU. I just cleaned my LS manual trans and will be cleaning the engine bay later today. I just need to acquire all the necessary parts like conversion tranny mount, axels, ECU, starter bolts, clutch kit, flywheel, and Intermediate shaft. Plus parts that are old and need to be replaced or are broken.

For the love of God, grab the flywheel/pressure plate bolts. I spent 65 on just those bolts from Acura with an EMPLOYEE discount haha. Take every bolt you can. Follow the write up.

Replace the linkage bushings, and get a short throw shifter.
