So I pulled out my speedo cable and wd40’d it, then cleaned it off and covered it with appropriate grease. It still squeals, and the sound comes from right behind the cluster, almost as through the white piece it plugs into is making it though I doubt thats the case. Has anyone had to just flat out replace the cable? I was really hoping to avoid it =/
Why don’t you want to replace the cable? Last I checked it was like $17… and its not particularly hard to replace.
Id think cleaning and re-installing the cable is more time consuming than simply replacing it.
Seriously. When I bought my DA, that was one of the first things I replaced. That sound is supper annoying
I got away using lithium grease lol…but i know the noise will be back and then its off to acura for a new cable…
Same problem, bought the cable=problem solved 
yeah man I had the same issue just last week and i just replaced it while I was replacing the old one I had found out that it had ended up breaking right under the white tap area that goes into the cluster , so yeah man I would just replace it much easier
iv been wanting to replace it also, but Acura quoted me like $40 just for the cable. does that sound right???

A few bucks more than I thought, but still not bad at all.
I recommend replacing the speedometer cable rather than re greasing it. When I re greased mine, grease got into the speedometer itself and ruined it.
I replaced my speedometer cable the singing and the squealing went a way for good.
Ordered a new cable. Thanks for the advice guys.
