I am trying to remove the plastic “knob” that goes over the recliner lever of my front passenger seat (2 door) so I can remove the seat side plastic piece, because its broken. I can’t seem to get that fu**er off! Is it supposed to be possible to get it off without shattering it?

you’re suppose to remove the plastic knob first… then the side plastic cover. its removeable. u gotta slide that plastic straight away from the metal lever (so pull away towards the front of the seat).
Put a piece of 2x4 against the lever bottom and whack it with a small persuader in the direction away from the exposed metal bar thats embedded in the plastic lever. The metal part has a small dig that catches in the plastic slot.
u can also try sliding something in there, like a stereo removal tool or something thin like that. that may work. i think i might have slid in a pocket screwdriver in between the medal and the plastic knob. if u mess up the plastic part where the metal digs into tho, it’ll slip off of the lever easily. so be careful.
