Trunk fell on my hand! haha oww

Yeah if your strut is leaking oil, and you have rear speakers then you should get new struts as soon as you can. I didn’t and now my right rear speaker cover and speaker are covered in the crap. It works fine it just bugs me knowing that its not perfect, plus it can’t be good for the longevity of the speaker. I think I am just going to replace them again after I swap in a new set of struts.

Oh that brought back some memories!! I had a bad struts for years before I even bother getting new ones. Here’s a story I was in Denver, Colorado visiting my family and my wife flew to Denver for a weekend. Anyway when I took her to the airport to drop her off to fly back to Texas, you guys remember during 9/11 when we had to go security check on cars to make sure we don’t have anything in the trunk so we got to the checkpoint I told that lady security to watch out for the trunk weight a tons! she said all right and went there to open and guess what haha! slap the shit out of her hand when it slipped out of her! I was like told you! I can’t even forget that face when I saw her screaming like she got her hand cut off!

1 strut will work, for those who don’t want to spend the money on 2.

i had my strut blow in the middle of my paintjob boy was that a bitch. i about crapped my pants cause he was just starting to paint the trunk. i still have to replace my other strut think it’s because of the cold and extra weight of the paint.

Mine fell on my head once and busted the skin. My head bled for a little bit. I was so fucking pissed. I took out the rods and bent the shit out of them. I was really really fucking pissed.

my old supra had bad hatch and hood struts and so does my DA…what i did was get a little tiny screw and connect it with wire to my struts and drill a hole into the the metal pole that comes out of the hydraulic thing…so when i open my hood/trunk i just get that screw and stick in the hole and it works as a stopper.

I use a vice grip  on one strut and it holds the whole thing up great…tested it for hours…doesnt even slip

hmmm
you could use Viagra to keep it up?

:giggle:

hahaha yea that came out a little wrong hahaha

i hate when it falls on my head and im standing right in the middle and the latch hits me, thats the worse, or when im getting my tool box out the back and it falls and hits me in my back. i need new stuts :frowning:

just get new struts at Auto Zone for around $20 ea

FTW

mine doesnt stay up during winter of summer because i only have one strut…lol :ohyeah:

u swear?! autozone for 20 bucks each?

uhh…yeah, they have them in all kinds of different sizes as well.

the ghetto ingenuity of this place never ceases to amaze me, even after 9 years. the lengths some of ya’ll will go to to save a few bucks.

ooo ok if u say it like dat, not the best quality then nvm. just thought everyone was kinda recommending it cuz its been talked about between my fellow g2ers.

seriously??? I think you misunderstood me. what i was saying was, that YES, autozone, or any other reputable parts place will carry aftermarket trunk/hood shocks, in various sizes. I was referring to the people going through all the trouble of cutting 2x4s to length, drilling holes through their shocks for screws to hold them in place, etc as the ghetto ones. The shocks are cheap, even from Acura, JUST REPLACE THEM.

the part # for them at Autozone according to their website is: A95551 and they retail for 21.99 each.

mine does that too when its really cold i have to work it up and down to make it stay up… but when it was warm when i went to instal me new spoiler it would just open up itself when the spoiler was off and i poped it… funny the light weight of the spoiler was enough to make the hatch stay closed

I got some used ones that work for about the same as getting some from AutoZone. I’m going to install them this weekend. Can’t wait until my trunk stays up on it’s own.

As for removing the 3rd wiper, I love having a 3rd wiper. I always wanted one on my 3G Prelude because my Civic had one.
