IMO-a quick fix to your problem would be about 2-3 coats of bondo. first, sand all around the holes to scuff it up, then put one coat of bondo on. let it dry, sand it then put another coat on. then keep doin that until there are no divets where the holes were. then, just get some color match paint in a spray can and paint it. just make sure you dont set something heavy on your trunk lid because the bondo could break through and reveal the holes again. hope this helps.

if ur lazy and its really temporary use some duck tape or something that wont peel off when its wet or stain it.

don’t use that bondo method, it isn’t very strong. I took my spoiler off too. currently i’ve just got electrical tape over the holes, but thats just till i get around to shaving.
to shave them a strong way at home:
-sand down to the metal all around the holes (make sure you get the sides of the holes too)
-make a small dent with a punch, the hole will be at the center of the dent. This dent allows for more surface area for the bondo and jb weld to attach to.
-mix up a small batch of jb weld. fill the hole with the weld. JB weld is much stronger than bondo, so thats why you use it to actually fill in the hole.
-sand down the jb weld
-use body filler, sanding, primer… to finish the job just like you would any other small dent
Thanks for the help guys. I think im gonna go ahead and try what 91IntegGS said to do.
thanks again

Don’t use jb weld it was a good chance of shrinking and/or causing your car to rust, slowly but it will rust-no matter what anyone tells you. Also paint will not stick very good to jb weld in the long run, i work at a body shop, welding new sheet metal or geting a new trunk/ hatch is the only way to fix this problem.
Oh ok, thanks mugenb18 for the warning. I have red duct tape over the holes now but it llooks pretty crappy. I quess i’ll look for a new hatch.
Thanks again

check home depot you should be able to buy plastic plugs that you can pop into the holes and then just color match. that will be good enough until you can take it to a body shop.
