when i took off the spoiler off my db1 i want to bondo & sand the trunk. since i have tanked off my friends civic trunk many times i decided i would try to cut the trunk openening latch wire…but it isn’t really a wire now is it? i ended up not being able to cut it & now the only way it closes is when i pull on the wires, then push it up. also the trunk light is on. any1 know how i would be able to fix this problem W/O taking the wires out of the trunk & car?
So I understand, you wanted to disable the trunk release, so you tried to cut the cable and now it is binding?
If so, disconnect the cable at the trunk latch mechanism.
The trunk light switch is in the trunk latch mechanism, if it is not latching properly the trunk light will stay on.
You will need to remove the latch, [3 screws] to be able to disconnect the cable.:whisper: 94
you are a life saver +1 karma LOL…BTW if i may ask where did you find that info?
Find the info?
I kind of knew, [that happens to us old farts] but I opened my Haynes manual, [1990-93 Integra/1991-95 Legend #12021] to the index, found “Trunk lid latch and lock cylinder, removal and installation” was on page 11-10, the rest was easy, the manual is full of good info like that, you should get one if you are going to work on the car yourself.
Then I will not have to come and save your life again, in another life.:whisper: 94
