So I’ve been looking around, all the pricing seems to be about the same. As much as I hate buying any kind of performance part from Ebay I have came across a wide variety of Brembo Rotors on it.
As far as I know, I’ve yet to see a slotted AND drilled rotor by Brembo. Yet, Ebay has MANY for sale. I just wanted to know why these people who claim that these are REAL Brembos are allowed to use the company name and all? Wouldn’t this be false advertising? If in fact they are real, how would anyone be able to tell? Other than by the box they may ship it in?
These aren’t a big break upgrade. Just direct replacements.
And while I’m on this topic. If not Brembo, what other brand would you suggest? I’m also looking into the Power-Slot and the Rotora’s. Are those better/worse? Thanks!
ebay sellers claim that their rotors are brembo which in fact most of them are…BUT!!! almost all of them buy BREMBO BLANKS and drill the holes and slots themselves and sell them for cheaper…thats why most of them crack or what not! Real brembos DO NOT come in slotted AND drilled. oh yeah, brembos usually have there name engraved on the side of the rotors…and i think they come in that goldish gas color and NOT silver zinc…only the blank brembos come in silver…
um…if its for daily used and some aggressive driving…i suggest get the brembo blanks(since its cheap and it does the job well!) and combine that with some good pads. I heard good reviews on AEM pads and hawks HPS…i have axxis ultimates…great for fast stops but dust like crazy…takes like 2-3 days of regular driving and you will have a good layer of dust! LOL
oh yeah, i wouldnt suggest SS brake lines…heard they break easy. OEM lines are fine!
there are a few threads on here that you can read up on that can help you choose brake pads… there should be quite a few reviews on the common brake pads that DA drivers use
this is just my opinion. im sure many other ppl love their brake set up:)
btw, im running those ebay brembo cross drilled and slotted with axxis ultimates… its been about 1.5 yrs and still no problems yet, although my pads need to be replaced soon! but over all, i like the braking power better compared to stock
I have the Brembo Slotted rotors and AEM brake pads and man what a difference just these 2 things make. Much improved bite. I highly recommend this setup.
I picked up some rear SP Performance rotors to match the drilled fronts that came with my car. There fairly cheap and you can choose to get them drilled, slotted, or both. Plus they will also powder coat the middle plart in color if you want to pay for that.
