Turbo sound?? WTF??

I just noticed about 4-5 days ago that my engine makes a high whistling sound when i’m standing on the gas pedal. Sort of sounds like a turbo but doesn’t change its tone. ( sounds the same all the time) I don’t even know where to begin to look for the problem.
Any advice on this would help me… i don’t know if i’m hurting my car driving it like that. There is no change in proformance or handling or anything.

Oh… and my car is basicly stock. Just advanced timing which i’ve already checked and it is just fine.

Could be your stock muffler making that sound. I had that sound too right before I blew a huge chunk out of it.

Stock intake (except i took out my resinator and did that $5 ram air mod) I guess it could be my intake but it still looks in good shape and never made that sound before. The sound is definitley coming from the engine bay, or around that area anyway.

mine makes that noise to but only when i have my AC on its has something to do with lagging the motor when its on

I have the same noise (kicks in around 4500 or so? and whines all the way up till shift) It only appeared after modding the intake for me. I kinda like it. Is it a sign of something about to go bad? Nothings happened yet…

Well i don’t use my AC… open windows is good enough for me:) I’m kinda sketched out about this sound… i really don’t want any problems, and i have to drive my car everyday. (Work and back is about a 150 km trip:( )

My friend put on a aftermarket intake it did the same thing, however, he had a Skunk2 intake manifold on his car, and his gasket was not covering completely over and a small amount of air was finding its way out…

It made that sound… fixed it by adjusting the intake manifold gasket, your problem seems to be with the intake, you are leaking a small amount of somewhere…

F**K me!! I’m so stupid.:mad: Sorry for the run around guys… i figured it out. I lost my stock tips last week, so i went and bought some stainless duel tips at Canadian tire. I had them welded on to my exhaust and i just found out that it is them that is making all the noise. Sorry again, and thanx for the help anyway.

Good to hear that you got it fixed. I get the same type of turbo noise but mine comes out of my speakers. Something weird is going on with my system, it’s picking up engine noises and spiting them out through the speakers amiplified… don’t know how to fix it though.

My buddies stereo did the same thing turns out his remote wire was too close to everything else, he moved the remote wire and the sound quit.
Glad you got it fixed RepTile and for so cheap.
