Tweeter pods.

Okay ive searched around on google and through this forum and couldnt find what im looking for.I saw these for a civic ex and was wondering if anyone knew where i could get them for my DA. Here is a pic of them.

they go right on the other side of the mirror.I cant think of what its called sorry. If anyone knows where i can get them or if its even possible please let me know.

I was going to this with my spare interior triangles/plastics with fiber glass and bondo. Those look really nice though. I’m hoping that some one does make them for DAs.

good idea, not sure how id like my highs so far away from my mids. but i would rock them either way. what makes you want to go with a component system?

I rode in a friends accord a while back and he has a similar setup and it sounded very clean so i figured id give it a shot

Wouldn’t it be better to have them a little higher than where the window crank arm sits ? Maybe up a little more to right around where DC2’s have their tweeters?

I mean, if you don’t want weird sound…

my e30 came stock with these and you can find those dirt cheap, im going to look and see how close the dimensions are…maybe you mount those up.

theres no definitive “this is the best placement” when it comes to speakers especially in the car audio environment.

plenty of cars have tweeters stock in the mirror cover like pictured above for the civic. some have it on the a-pillars. some have them mounted on the dash all the way towards the windshield. some even have them located in the door handles.

each installation… each environment is different.

you cant say just because someone didnt install it the same way which would be optimal in your listening environment is weird or wrong.

best thing to do when installing components is to test and try out which location you like best.

some people like the sound of tweeters in kickpanels and some like them mounted higher… its all preference.

I have my mb quarts mounted in the triangle piece. All i did was use a hole saw to cut it out, placed the tweeter in and hot glued the tweeter in and covered the piece with black cloth. I’ve hav the same set up in all of my tegs. Sorry about the shitty pics.

Where did you find that pic with the tweeter? That record store is 30 minutes away from me.

here’s my setup with a cliff designs 1400 (1,000 rms) running to mids and highs.

Isn’t that a little loud with two tweeters?

yup but not annoying loud. My friend, which hooked it up, recommended it since I listen mostly to Spanish music rather than rap or hip hop music that has those nasty high notes. but it is a beautiful feeling when I pull next to kid with bass and completely shut him off with my mids and highs alone! I previously had one alpine type X sub but I got bored and annoyed by bass (shed alot of weight! lol)

Yeah i have one ten inch sub and thinking about ditching it for an 8 inch sub and trying to hide it behind the back plastic covers

I actual got the pic off of honda tech i believe

Yo hb420 - what kind of “hot glue” did you use and this may sound dumb… but would the hot glue mess up the tweeter? Thanks

you’re not putting hot glue inside the tweeters…

just on the back side.

most tweeters are fully sealed anyways.

the fabric is just stretched across the triangle panel and glued in place also.

Glue sticks because when you want to take the tweeter out it peels off clean
