can i put type r pistons in my b18a1 without doing any mods?..if not what mods do i need to do to make them fit and would it even be worth it?
you have to have the rods shaved approx 1mm on each side. Its a very easy modification that any automotive machine shop will be able to do. and yes, adding those pistons would be worth it. They will increase compression by a pretty good amount (how much will depend on if you use usdm or jdm itr pistons)

Well, the wristpins are what you shave not the rods. i have about a 10.8-10.9:1 cr but that’s with a b16a head- I’m not positive with a b18a1 head due their being a diff volume in the combustion chamber

you can shave the wrist pins, or so i hear. But all the really smart engine builders i’ve talked to have all said to shave the rods… not the wrist pins. It even said that on the FFSquad page. And personally i trust all those guys a lot more than the 2 or 3 guys who have said to shave the wrist pins. But i have no personal experience with it.
well the mechanic who did my conversion is an acura mechanic who owns a 200k+ G2 and mine has been runnin strong for 25k+ miles since the conversion. THAT is my personal experience, not something I read off a chatroom from a supposed “expert”. Hope I dont sound too belittling, but everyone’s king of their own castle online.
Strange. For the life of me I cannot understand what modifying a wristpin can do for allowing ITR pistons to properly spec onto PR4 rods. Especially since all b-series wristpins are the same.
