i know alot of ppl use the stock ITR axleback system… some even use the mufflers on their EG civics… is it possible to have it on our DAs?.. the reson i ask is bacause im not sure because of the way our stock muffler is shapped… does anyone have it on t heir car?.. PICS?.. quick review?>… and input would help… thanks guys
Think about it… 94+ integras, EGs and EKs have the exhaust coming out on the passenger side. DAs/EFs have the exhaust coming out of the driver side.
In short, no it won’t fit.

actually the 94+ axle back WILL fit a DA. i have a full cat back from a DC on my car and the only real difference was the length of the pipe between the cat and the first bend otherwise it all fits
Correction, it won’t fit if you want to keep your muffler coming out in the stock location.
If you want to hack your bumper, then yes it will fit.

right and i have this huge ugly can of a muffler and i didnt have to hack my bumper the shop did though anyways and now looks like ass, but its not needed
i didnt mean the whole type r exhaust… OBVIOUSly it wouldnt work because of the different shape and it being on the passenger side… i said AXLE BACK… meaning just the muffler pretty much… but thanks for the input… coffe can muffler?.. change that shit man lol… cant stand those loud obnoxious mufflers… give hondas a bad name in my opinion
This thread makes me LOL.
anything can fit. all you need is a welder.
i totally agree with red integra…
Has any one taken a ITR muffler and had a muffler shop hack it up and weld up new pipes and hangers to it so that the muffler stays in the stock position?
I have a 92 GSR. 92-93 GSR OEM mufflers are discontinued by Acura.
there really isn’t any point in hacking a OEM muffler no matter if type r to make it custom and fit our cars.
what’s your goal with this, a sleeper look. any universal muffler will do just fine if you pick the right parts, straight flow 2.5" diameter.
I would like to hear from some one who has hacked an ITR muffler to make it fit in the factory location.
18307-SK7-A72 is the OEM 92-93 GSR muffler and it is DISCONTINUED. RS/LS/GS part number is 18307-SK7-505.
Chambered mufflers are quiet. I only want to spend $350-$400 for a muffler custom installed. I have found a mandrel bend muffler shop in my area.
I only want a quiet muffler. I do not want a muffler that is raspy, droning, loud. The N1 style “straight through” and twin loop mufflers are loud.
Here is a list of chambered and straight through OEM & Aftermarket mufflers:
i had a full 2.25" exhaust on my old DA- thermal axle back and mid pipe with high flow cat… everything fit really good, nice clean look and sounded great. i agree with some of the guys up top though…why go through all the hassle and spend cash to hack an ITR muffler to fit your car? IMO, it wouldnt look right at all even if you were able to get it installed. our mufflers have a wider, flatter look to them to compensate for their location. the DC integras have a more “canister” look to them. theres better products out there that will bolt right up. check out craigslist or the parts section on here to help save you some cash and install it yourself, dont pay a muffler shop to butcher your exhaust, lol
The RS*R Exmag Exhaust is the best quiet exhaust for a G2 integra but they have been DISCONTINUED for a long time.

There are a ton of loud, raspy, droning aftermarket mufflers/exhaust for sale but I’m looking for quiet.
based on your first post your after the dc2 rear exhaust look, any muffler will do. no need to hack up a fine type r muffler the works fine. it doesnt seem like your looking for gains so I would leave your exhaust alo
anytime your looking to make power your have to accept a negative affect. louder exhast.
DA9 GSRs are 21-22 years old now so mufflers will rust out.
I wish I could keep my stock GSR muffler but it rusted out and there is a hole in it so it will not pass smog in CA. CA. mandates “test only” every 2 years and your car goes on a dyno for the smog test.
Delmar, good point about the DC2 ITR muffler being taller than the DA9 mufflers. Will the DC2 ITR muffler be too close to the ground? My car is not lowered.
