I had this exact same problem about a month ago and fixed it. Here’s how:
The weatherstripping around the front windows is mounted on a couple metal pieces that screw to the body of the car. You can remove the rubber weatherstripping by popping out the plugs at either end of the rubber and then carefully pulling it out of the metal track.
Once the rubber is removed you can take off the two metal pieces by removing all the screws. You will see on the back of the metal trim pieces some old foam sealing material. Mine was in bad shape and you could see where water was getting behind it up near the top of the window where the two metal pieces meet and then running down to the lowest point, the seatbelt opening.
I picked up some 3M adhesive foam weatherstripping at Advance Auto that is made for sealing a truck topper to the bed of a truck. It was just about the right width so I stuck it on the back of the metal trim piece. I think someone on here also mentioned just using silicone but I didn’t want the trim pieces stuck on the car.
After putting on the new foam weatherstripping put the metal trim back on the car, using silicone where the two metal pieces meet. Put the rubber weatherstripping back in and you are done.
Since then we’ve had some torrential downpours here and my floor and window switch have been nice and dry.
This is by no means a comprehensive write-up on the repair procedure but you get the drift. Hopefully this helps you guys out.
