Upper radiator hose connector question

Okay… on the head, where the upper radiator hose connects… if you look on the backside of that little connector there is a nipple for a neoprene hose… looks a lot like the larger hoses that go in the intake manifold… although I’m sure it’s not a vacuum hose  Someone wanna point out to me where that goes? I’m havin difficulties

Okay… so I’ve come to the conclusion that it is the “Heater inlet hose” my question is… WHERE DO I CONNECT IT TO?

Thanks again,

Harry

okay… it’s not the heater inlet hose.

Which means I’m still lost. :-/

Are you talking about the bleeder hole for the coolant?? That is what you use to bleed all of the air out of your coolant after a change.

I dont ever use those things anyway. I just burp my cooling system by giving it gas and/or squeezing the hoses. Old school style.
IMO, that bleeder is just one more thing that can strip out or cause a problem.

it connects to the fast idle valve which is located under the throttle body. if it is a newer manifold there should be a tube for it under there any ways. just plug and play. oh coolant routes through it as well.

No tube for it… There was a fast idle valve on my OLD manifold, but not on the B16a one. :frowning:

is there any thing under the throttle body?

2 holes that are connected to the TB. Other than that… nope.

actually its not on the throttle body, its located underneith it but on the manifold its self, check to see if theres any holes there you might have to feel for it, you might be missing your fast idle valve, there should be three holes for 10mm bolts around one or two holes on the side, if not check to see if there is a broken tube there as well. if not when you can try to fill it up with water to see if you have any coolant leaks there, and if there isnt just plug it up.

Well, here’s what I did… I took the third hose that comes out of the thermostat housing, and I plugged it up.

I’ve now put almost 200 miles on her and she doesn’t run hot, so I’m assuming I did it correctly

Thanks,

Harry

just as long as its workin, glad youre happy with it

Yea hybrid… I got what u’re saying, but the IM I have is a JDM b16a one and probably old as dirt… It had no place to bolt up my fast idle valve so I just left it off.

Only thing now, I think it’s my plugs, but she idles like PISSSSSS. I’m talking like PISSS. who knows? It could be my fast idle valve… but I’m guessing plugs because until 4000 rpms it seems like it’s running on 3 cylinder or sumthing.

I’ll keep everyone updated.
