i’m using the nitto neogens in 205/45/16 size. I absolutly LOVE these tires. I just bought a second set this summer. My first set lasted me 32000 miles and i prolly coulda squeezed another 3 or 4 outta them. Right off the shelf they have decent wet traction and above par dry traction, but as they wear the wet traction decreaces and the dry performance increases! i live in NC and it rains decently here, but it doesnt bother me. When it rains I’m just a more cautious driver.
my 2 cents
(EDIT: i am not nice to my tires… just fyi. I have a tendancey to corner hard on a regular basis…)
I have BF Goodrich Sports on my car for almost a year now and can’t complain. Not very much wear yet. They have excellent dry traction but only decent wet traction. Don’t know how they would compare to those others though.
wet traction is very important wear I live. In Central Florida it rains just about every day from spring til the end of summer (Hurricane Season)…
So far it seems like my choices are being narrowed down to the Nitto Neo Gen and the Yokohama S-Drive. Still have a few weeks to go before I make my decision, but i’m torn btwn the 2.
The Neo Gen has that nice inner part of the tire reducing camber wear, and the S-Drive has a high UTQG rating but a higher price tag…
What to do??
EDIT
What do you all think about the Bridgstone Potenza RE-11’s?? They are a bit more $$ but if I buy 2 with one paycheck and the other 2 with another paycheck then I could swing the extra $40 per set?? If they are worth it…I just think they are hott! They have receieved raved reviews and ex owners of RT-615’s are claiming they are far superior, excellent grip in wet and dry traction but again they have a very low UTQg rating of only 180…
a side note about the inner ring of harder rubber on the neogens. love it. i’m running more negative camber on my car and i dont get any worse wear b/c of the tires. its great!
I got the g-force sport and they are good not great. They grip good and the wear is good but the track will tear them up and the sidewall is weak they fold over .I got about one year on them with six track days and daily driving. I had a set of fuzion’s and I really liked them they grip even on 15% tread and the sidewall is strong I mean really strong. I hit a curb really hard when the brakes on my Scirocco went out and the curb too a chunk of the rim but not the tire, The tire was still good with no major damage or bulges, just make sure your alingment is good and they will last you more than a 1.5 years. O, and one more thing the fuzions are more quiet at the track than the g force.
