Vaccum Line Routing

Hey guys,

I haven’t updated my build thread yet but the motor is in and running! But I have some issues.

I have an obd0 (converted to obd1) b16 vtec head on my b18b block, sitting in my 91 da. I need to know what emissions and vacuum routing I can remove, as well as what I should hook up where. It’s a total mess right now, and I’m sure things are hooked up wrong.

So far the dashpot and egr have been removed. But I need to know about the purge valve and stuff on the firewall, as well as whatever the no. 2 control box is and if that’s needed. Pretty much I need clarification on the whole vacuum routing!

I’m at a loss, it’s hard looking at vacuum diagrams that are barely detailed and trying to put it all together.

Can anyone help me figure out what can be removed and where I should hook all my vacuum lines?

It would be very appreciated.

Thanks!

all you need is the map sensor. all the rest can be removed.

So the FPR purge valve, other solenoid on the firewall canister can be removed? How is the FPR regulated then? Also, what can I do with the No. 2 box? unplug it and remove it??

Im interested in this thread too. Also, when you remove those vacuum sensors, where / how do you plug off the vacuum lines (if at all)?

Yes, then take the plug and tuck it somewhere inconspicuous.

you have to plug any open vacuum lines! there are little rubber caps that are made specificly for this job

If you follow most any vacuum line from start to finish, you can typically remove the stock configuration and install a new line in a “tucked” fashion… that helps clean up the bay a ton.

It really depends on which intake manifold, throttle body, and intake you use… Many different years/models have slightly different layouts, making a write-up difficult to create and be totally accurate.

Once I got my mix-and-match parts together, I followed the vacuum diagram under the hood, and tried to copy that in the best fashion possible. Same thing with coolant lines when you swap a motor.
