Im starting to tuck and shave in the engine bay and one of the things i hate the most is all the vacuum lines everywhere. Can anyone help me identify what i can do without? I know new IM’s dont have all the same vacuum hookups so i assume most of it isnt needed. Plus i see a lot of pics of tucked hondas/acuras that dont have all this stuff. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Pics of your tucked or shaved setups would help a lot too.
vacuum lines are necessary so components will work and they aren’t a bad thing. they help your car run better/save gas. It not like a crazy mess like back in the 80’s. if you need to pass smog on a visual and functional test then do not take them out.
if you really want to do this for the looks and you don’t give a crap about how the car runs and you will probably get a CEL then all you need is the map and fuel pressure regulator
no i drive the car everyday atleast 120 miles commuting to work and back so i car a lot how it runs. I dont have to pass any smog inspections either so the emissions stuff is ok to go. Im just wondering what all is ok to remove and what isnt.
evap saves you 15% to 20% of your fuel
egr saves you about 10% of fuel - helps with knock too
If you want to lose roughly 30% of your fuel economy then get rid of those two
everything else is used for idle or driveability
