- When turning the crnakshaft bolt are you upposed to turn it clockwise or counter-clockwise when doing a valve adjusment. The Haynes manual says clockwise, teg tips say counter…does it matter?
2.Are the rocker arms/ th thing that holds the adjustingbolt and scew supposed to wiggleat all because some of them are firm and some wiggle…if they are not supposed to wiggle how do i make e firm?
THANKS!!!:vomit:

counterclockwise. i believe the haynes is referring to something else, i was confused at first too. yes it does matter, your timing will be off. you can go backwards (clockwise) when you need to, just as long as you go back the other way when making adjustments.
ya the rocker arms are held down by the adjuster and screw. yes they will be loose, except when they happen to be applying pressure to the valve stems. careful as they can easily fall out of place. good luck
Whoch is the #1 cylinder? the one closest to the drivebelts, or the distributor?
Always take it counter clockwise so you know that everything will line up right. When you go clockwise you end up turning the crank and not the cams and that could throw you off.
The #1 cylinder is the one closest to the cam gears and the firing order is 1-3-4-2.
Oh, throw your haynes manual away and get a helms
