I am gonna be painting my valve cover and have a few questions. I know how to get the paint off and have a few plans on shaving the letters. I will be shaving the “HON” and “CO” and so it will read “DA MOTOR.” Anyway, how do I keep the crinkle look after stripping off the paint? Do they sell an orange peel type of stuff like they do for interior walls like in my house? Also, I’m going with a gold color. Any brands that you know of that would look nice? Mainly stuff that’s available at Autozone/Schucks/Etc. I’m wantin to keep this on a budget.
to maintain the wrinkle effect, you can buy a paint called vht wrinkle paint… The only thing is that Im not sure that it comes in gold… It definitly comes in black and red…
you can buy the wrinkle paint…i do suggest prepping the valve cover as good as you can…brake parts cleaner works great for removing oil and gunk…
prep is key when getting a durable paint finish
good luck man
aircraft paint stripper, high temp wrinkle paint. if they dont have gold then maybe a black with gold on top?
