Valve Spring Retainers Popping off???

Does anyone know what would cause a valve spring retainer to come loose and cause the spring to in turn come free and bounce around?

Tonight RcnAcura and I insalled a b20z head onto my car and when trying to start it…it would not start.

We took the valve cover off to see if the the cam gears were in the right spot and discovered that one valve spring was loose.

anyone have any ideas?

The only way I know that could happen is if the valve keepers were either installed incorrectly or if they weren’t installed at all. When installing them you should make sure that they are secure. HTH lates…
