vented hoods?

i was just looking at a few vis hoods ie. evo and invader and im jw since they have the open vent wouldnt it be hard on the engine when it rains out?? im just curious ive looked at a few

what do you mean make it hard on the engine? I have the invader hood from VIS and when it rains, the fan some times gets a little wet but it wont get harmed by it

i was planning on getting 1 but a few people were like you dont want water in your bay i was just a little confused

If i could do it again, i would stay far away from there GT Extreme style hood. both vents sit right above the spark plug shutes and any time it rains, i wash my car, ect, ect. i get water in them. #1 is actually starting to rust out:(

I did alvays like the invader, but getting water on the fan disturbes me just as much.

OEM style here i come:ohyeah:

yea it does get wet but if ur valve cover has a nice new coat of paint it will be straight but if u put like the extreme gt like i put u gotta re route the clutch cable or it will not close

and ihave the foam het shit with the crhome on both sides to cover it when it rains

No i dont think you understand, its not the valve cover rusting. its the cylinder head. water gets past the spark plug boot and gets down into the shute. where the plug sits.

but i do agree that the clutch cabel does have to be relocated with this perticular hood

well my spark plugs create a seal. i know someone who has the same hood on a 90 teg and havent had any problems with water
