I’ve had my tires rotated and spin-balanced. I had a front-end alignment done a week ago. I stlil have bad vibration in my steering wheel accelerating from 55-75 (about).
update I switched my bent wheel to the back (was supposed to be back there anyway, vibration still occurs.
I will check inner CV joint, wheel bearing, but it is possible Les Schwab didn’t balance my wheels correctly, although i did watch them do it.
When i got my alignment done the shop said they did do the alignment but I have a couple things that need to be fixed. My upper control arm ball joint is worn out (the left one if you’re curious) and my right tie rod end is loose. Apparently my alignment won’t stay (not sure if this is appropriate word) b/c of these things. I do feel vibration sometimes accelerating but sporadically. Is it possible that this relates to you?
btw- b4 the alignment I had my shocks replaced w/ yellow konis and eibach pro-kits.
My teg had been wrecked before, you can see where the frame was restraightened. At around 60 mph i got steering wheel vibration. align., balance was perfect. I’m sure it was do the wreck…prob not alot that can be done about it if thats your case. Shocks prob. wouldnt affect steering wheel shake…you would notice cupped tire wear and alot of bounce if they were blew…
It’s very possible whoever balanced your tires may have rushed it and didn’t do it properly. Try rotating the fronts to the rear and see if it changes.
My other car (Miata) is VERY sensitive to wheel balancing and believe it or not, it took me 3 tries to find a shop that would do it right. From that experience, I typically stay away from large tire chain stores now.
