How many of you guys have a vis hood on your teg without hood pins?
I dont really care for them but I have to daily drive my teg on the highway so it might be a good idea.
Also how well is your hood holding up against road debris (rocks and stuff), my teg takes some abuse on the highway so im curious on how bad these hoods chip because theyre basically unrepairable…correct?
So far my VIS hood is holding up road debris just fine. After about 2 years there are some minor chips in the front but not too bad. I do have some bad scratches on the hood though but I’m not sure where they are from. I don’t really know if its repairable or not though.
I also have pins on my hood but I’m not sure if they are really needed. I just like having the extra security since I have seen the hood wobble a litle at high speeds. Although I do know another guy around here with a VIS with no pins and his seemed to be fine. HTH.
seems like there should be some type of spray or protectant that will protect your carbon fiber hood from minor scrathes and dings? idk im just hoping there is lol
I’ve had my vis hood on for about 1 and a half years and have no problems at all and without using any hood pins.
Still looks like the day I got it without any stone chips or scratches…

most detailing shops and body shops should be able to get it for you.

I only see a kit for 94-up integras, do they make anything for our cars?
Have you seen this stuff on a car in person or know anyone’s personal experience with it?
When VW took over Lamborghini they started using it on all Lambo front ends. Ferrari uses it too.
And those are just the pre-made kits, for personal or non-licensed installer use. If you go to a licensed installer (found on their website) they have giant sheets that they can cut to fit your vehicle. Costs a bit more, but it’s cheaper than going to a body shop every other year for a repainted front end.
i have a VIS CF hood i liked it alot on it looked really good …but it the only thing i didnt like which youn wouldnt ever have to worry about is i got into a fight with some kid that hit my girlfriend and he came back and batted in my car and the VIS cracked in every spot he hit with the bat …im going to go with the Fiber Images Cf hood when i get my new one …but this isnt something you would have to worry about just driving around …
I got the VIS Invader hood for my Sedan and I turn heads every day every where i go. I dont have hood pins and the fitting is sweet. I just got in a front end accident and the hood was all good. *phew! ahy how i would get hood pins just for the secure feeling. but i drive allllllll the time and alllllll day long. (got to love the teggy) All though i would not get the hood pins that every one els has. there are those locking hoodpins that are no bigger than a nickel and not very tall. i htink they look clean and its not seen on every ones car. kind of hi end JDM’ish… (if that cant sound any more ricy)

No problems for over a year of highway driving to and from work (40+ each way). I do worry sometimes though. On the plus side, since I worry about it, I do tend to drive a bit slower and keep it under 80 most of the time.
