visible diff. between GSR and non-GSR

can someone point out any visible difference (not under the hood) between GSR and non-GSR besides the alloy rims?

DOHC VTEC badge?

-body matched side and bumper moldings
-body matched front lip
-no 3rd brake light on the hatch glass
-LED brake light on the spoiler
-VTEC side moldings on the fenders instead of DOHC
-if you look under the rear, the exhaust should have two pipes leading from the muffler to the tips instead of just one
-look inside to see the GS-R gauge cluster (8k redline)
-look to see the VIN number on the dash (should say DB2 instead of DA9)
-and of course, GS-R badge on the rear

GSR seats are charcoal grey w/ slight red stitching.

if you look under the car (not visible) our x-member is different. the lower models have a middle piece that connects the middle of the front and rear subframe, whereas the gsr does not.

Under the hood you should see the heatshield cover on the inside of the hood and of course the infamous B17A.

Regarding the interior. I have heard of GSR’s with the optional leather package and also the steering wheel leathered wrapped. Also, the center armrest. But most of the come in Graphite Black.

Many G2 LS/GS models here in montreal have the dual tail pipes, I’m sure it was standard. GS-R alloys rims are the same as GS models.
At least for 1993 models.
The 3rd brake light. It may have been standard on Canadian GS-R’s. Someone check that out.

So it seems Canadian GS-R’s have less visible differences.

Usually the main difference is whenever I see a GSR on the road, I can only see it from the rear for some reason. :stuck_out_tongue:

True. Maybe we can start our own squad :cool:. We can call ourselves the “R Squad” or “DB2 Crew” (I like the sound of that)

As for spotting a GSR, I normally just look for the rear hatch w/o the two nipples.
