I was talking about the custom-valved KYB idea.
I dont follow. If the package comes with springs, and they are already custom valved, how can you pass it up and get some other struts instead?
And does anyone know exactly what the custom valving accomplishes?
Sorry, I misunderstood. If the struts are valved to handle that low of a drop and that spring rate, I’d say go for it ($350 was it?).
Yea, with shipping I believe they are $350.
So the fact that they are “custom valved” for the springs probably means that they would be better able to handle the drop? GR2s are historically meant for drops of 1.5’’ or less. This package looks like a good deal, and the members sure seem satisfied with performance, but I dont want to buy them if the struts will blow/wear out in a few months.

no blown shocks and i just took a trip to mexico (800 miles) with three people in the car and fully loaded with luguage that about 700lbs of extra weight and handled real nice too even with the extra weight. never bottomed out and rode smooth as hell and i hit a few twisties on the way too.
i have put about 5k miles on these shocks and springs already.
I’ve got about 3000 miles on mine right now, and nothing is wrong, i love the ride and the look these things give.
