vr6z's DA9 Build Thread

Hey guys! Welcome to my build thread. This is my first car, and before I bought it, I looked into this site a lot and saw how much potential these cars have, and you guys inspired me to get one myself. She’s really rough as you can see… She’s a 1992 DA9 LS. There’s quite a few problems with it, but with a steady job it won’t take long to fix them and start doing things that I want to make her better. There isn’t a passenger side headlight marker, and there is no power steering. The springs are cut, so lowering the front and raising the back, as you can see is very needed in the pictures, is not an easy task. I’m not sure what exactly they are using to raise and lower it, but I can tell its something they got really cheap off of eBay. I raised the front as high as it can go with what is currently on it, which isn’t very high. I tried lowering the front, but it just made the ride so rough I could barely stand to drive it down the road…

I found a pair of Megan Racing springs that has a kit for $130 which is still not as good as coilovers by any means, but it will definitely get the job done better than what I have at the moment. The hood won’t latch either, it will latch and not fly up but it wont latch completely. But, never the less, she’s mine and I am proud to call her mine

The car has a Magnaflow muffler with a 4" tip. She’s LOUD. And deep

This is when we first bought it, the back is raised more now than it is in this picture, and less camber.

I want to paint her black, and put some white rims on it, or black I’m not sure which yet, but I do know anything is better than the steelies on it lol, And I want to re-badge it, because there are no badges on the car. I want to de-rice it, and make her a clean, beautiful build!!

Good progress starts with a vision, when done no greater feeling lol
