Vtev controller necessary???

Hi everyone,
I just received a 10 years ago technology product from my friend,

Have a neccesary to install it on my B16A???
May be just because the digital RPM or shift lamp warning???
Or vtec crossover point???
THANKS

Don’t install it unless you’re going to have the car tuned by someone who knows what they’re doing. Changing the vtec crossover point doesn’t always mean the car is going to make more power.

It is not necessary, no. Your ECU will control the Vtec changeover. If it isn’t now, you have an issue you need to address. That is assuming you have the proper ECU.

Thanks for reply ya…
Actually,
Recently i using PR3 ecu(stock)with mugen chipset,
So,
Vtec start kick in at 4500RPM…
I free too early kick in for a stock engine…
So,
At this moment may be this product can help me change back the vtec kick in setting to 5200 or 5500 RPM…
SHOULD BE ALRGIGHT???
Thanks…

PS:1st gen B16A engine combination with 2nd gen B16A cam and 2nd gen B16A piston.

If your motor is stock, then you should be using a stock ECU. Using a Mugen (eBay) chip is just going to add more fuel (make your motor run rich), advance your ignition timing and change your vtec crossover point… None of these things are very beneficial to the power and/or health of your motor.

As I said before, use a stock ECU or get your car tuned by someone who knows what they’re doing. Tuning your car is pointless at this stage as your motor is stock.
