I’m just testing the waters here, but I have some E-Bay black housing 1pc headlights with a Retrofit Source Mini-Morimoto H1 projector retrofit done in them. Only had them in the car for about a year or so, and I don’t put on that much mileage, so everything works great. They’re the updated projectors so they aren’t prone to sticking, and they never have.
Also have some transparent amber tint film that I was going to wrap just the corners in to hide the infamous clear strip on the sides.
Anyway, the kit alone is 300, let alone the lights (albeit cheap) plus countless hours trimming them to fit and work right.
Wanting to get into some nice Stanley 1pcs, plus some cash on top depending on condition. So trade plus some cash, or sell outright. Obviously they come with all the ballasts, relays, wiring, etc. $400
Way better than any standard halogen. And Cash on top would be if someone had some 1pcs that had a chip on the corner, or broken tabs, etc. Straight trade for a super nice pair.
And honestly, I already doubted anyone would want to. I’d rather just find a decent pair and buy outright, and I still might. It’s really just a toss up between looks or performance. Stanley 1pcs look really, REALLY nice, but the light output isn’t anything special. But with these, even with the one side pointing down a hair more than the other, the amount of light is just beyond what I could have hoped.
There are sh*t loads of deer around here, so I needed all the light I could get. Plus I don’t like being blinded by bright lights, nor blinding others, so this was a good choice. Plus I hate the look of PnP’s in stock housings, lol.
huh? the light output on my 1 pieces is amazing. its pretty ridiculous actually. the regular bulbs are in it too. i had an eu1 with stock hid’s in them and the light output in my da is just as good if not better…
Back when I had the stock 3pc headlights, I replaced the centers with brand new ones and used some very nice PIAA bulbs, proper wattage, correctly aligned, etc. Now I’m not sure if they’re “brighter” per say, at lets say…30 feet, but it’s more how far the light goes with it being as bright as it is. I’ve seen a clean set of Stanleys before with some err… I think Raybrig bulbs, not sure, but again, it was plenty bright, just didn’t go as far, plus got flashed a bit more, lol.
Thanks for the “thumbs up” so to speak, DA4dr. $400 would only cover the cost of the retrofit and the headlights. I’m just asking that, not time spent, lol.
I have some clear amber tint that I want to use on the corners, so maybe that’ll make it look a bit better, but who knows. I’m just thinking I’ll just get a set of 1pcs for the side, like shows and what not, then use these for daily use.
Wanting some Stanley’s more and more lately. Anyone perhaps down for a trade? Would need to be a decently clean pair though. I could cut and buff them, but all the tabs need to be intact, and the lower bracket too.
