x2. I have driven up there in late spring almost summer and there was at least a foot of snow still at the highest point you could drive. Much better if it was at least halfway into the summer or even early fall. I love driving hwy 7, just have to remember if you are cooking on the way up there then the way back has to be chill. Some friends of mine went up there last year and were killing it on the way up and when they were coming back down later in the day there was 2 different cops sitting/hiding waiting for the return trip down. Needless to say one got popped for doing 95 in a 60.
