i’ve searched around the forums (again) trying to see if anyone knows the size of hole plug i’ll need to fill in the holes for the spoiler.
now, this isn’t a PERMANENT solution. it is only to see how i’m gonna like the car without a spoiler. if i like it enough, i’ll take it to a shop in a few weeks and have the hatch properly “shaved” if i dont like it, the holes are still there and i can always put it back on.
if you just want to see what it looks like just wait for a nice day and take it off look at it and make a decision if you like put it back till you can shave it the right way
yes they are round. the center hole will have a white plastic plug in it that you dont need to remove and as long as the grommet on it is fine then dont worry about the center. then just the four round holes on the outside. Probably close to 3/8 inch???
i actually took my spoiler off & was going to put a type-r spoiler on or a 99-00 civic si spoiler on but decided not to. i then took off the antenna & emblems & sanded the antenna area & the whole trunk including where the spoiler holes were & emblems holes were & put fiberglass mesh over & bondo & sanded…i actually like it better. but then again i have a 4dr teg. my friend has a 2dr w/ the spoiler off & it looks good too! i could get pics of both, but his he repainted black to match his car & mine is primer
yea…i would like to know which one you used so i can run to home depot and get some…
my DA came with no spoiler and the guy i bought it from put one on…
i tried various size plugs from Home Depot/Lowes and all of them sucked. the main problem is that the holes aren’t circular, they are oval. none of them fit properly.
I found these rubber grouments at my job I think they were for the bottom of a table for they wont scratch the floor, anyway I dont know how to post pics but if someone whats pics send me your email and I can send them to you so can post them so everyone can see what they look like they are very tight and flushed my email da2teg@yahoo.com.
hey guys i put plugs on my holes…they are not perfectly round…infact if your car came with the spoiler from the factory installed…its more like an oval…and i know waht size grommets and plugs to use…i can check on the rubber grommet size and get back to you guys. As for the plugs use the regular plastic push button tabs once u put the grommet around the metal to seal out all water…
