Was the 93 Hatchback Vtec????

The Reason i ask is i want to do a ls vtec and someone has a head from a 93 but i don’t know if that was vtec just seeing if anyone knew

the only hatches that ever came with V-tec’s were the VX and Si, they were both sohc’s, both were built from 92-95, the VX was rated at like 107hp and the Si shared the same 127hp soch V-tec with the 94-00 Ex. Hope that helps.

Thanks save me some bucks!!

are you talking about the Civic hatch or the Integra hatch? the integra gs-r was a b17a VTEC.

i assumed he was talking about civic hatches, i didn’t even think of an integra…

he must have been talking about the integra hatch because he wants to do an LS/VTEC.

not necessarily, cause VTEC came in the Si hatches. and most people who do LS/VTEC use a b16a1/2 from a civic as opposed to a rare b17a1 from an integra

I think you’re thinking of JDM EG hatches. USDM ones never had the B16. There were only 2 B Series VTEC motors in 93, the del Sol (B16) and the Integra (B17)

Does the valve cover say VTEC on it? if it does it’s VTEC if not most likely it’s not unless the have a MUGEN one.
