Let’s hope it’s not coolant on pass. side foot well which means heater core. $$$$
Water was getting in my dad’s RAV4. I couldn’t find the problem for the life of me. I thought it was the heater core, but that was fine. Then I thought it was the weather stipping somewhere, all fine. Water just mysteriously enter the car randomly. Then it rained and the interior was soaked again. Turns out a big fat grommet in the firewall was not seated correctly and the windshield was funnelling the rain right into the problem.
Well there is water in the passenger side, driver side and under both seats. I don’t know if there are holes in the floor or not. I would hate to have to remove both seats and the carpet just to search for small holes. Is there anyway to get the under carriage sealed or sprayed. I figured you northern guys would know the process with all the snow and salt and everything. I grew up in south florida so Ive never had to go through all that.
Or maybe there is a way to check the sunroof. or window seals. I just dont know
What I would do, this maybe totally wrong, would be to sit inside the car and have someone take a water hose to every potential problem area.
Removing seats isn’t really that bad. Should be four bolts and a small wire harness per seat.
