i recently aquired a 90 db1 gs and they said the heater core needed replaced, i noticed that it was bypassed under the hood, so i figured what the heck its summer and no need for it. today we had a rainy day (yes in cali in june lol) and i got in my car and took off, but to my surprise theres water coming from under the dash. where can it be coming from if heater is bypassed?
It’s coming from that front cowl that sits on top of the bottom of the windshield and under the edge of the hood. There is a leak in the area underneath it that is allowing water to go into your passenger area. I took mine off and sealed everything up under there with silicone caulk and also added some to the bottom of the cowl.
It lasted for a good year but just started leaking again recently.
I decided to seal it up from the outside with some of that “Flex-Seal” that you see on tv advertisements. It worked good but looks like a total mess…
