so i get up to go to the rents house and decide to drive the teg cause i dont drive it much anymore. i get about a half mile down the road and water is dripping in from the seatbelt track… wtf?? has anyone else had this problem? is it maybe from the moonroof? i dunno. any help is great on this cause its dripping on my window switches and i dont want to short out my power windows, they’re already messed up enough. thanks l8r and merry christmas, hanukkah, and kwanza to everyone.
i have this exact same problem!! did you ever get it fixed?? does it leak from both sides or just one? mine is only leaking on the driverside. i’ve been pretty lucky since it hasn’t rained very hard in houston, tx for awhile, but i know come spring time, there will be alot of showers. hopefully there is someone that can shed alittle light on this problem.

my driverside seat belt track leaks as well. i tried to search around for a solution but couldnt find anything. only thing i could think of was the corner part of the windshield because my rubber piece is crappy but that wasnt it.
yeah both my seatbelt tracks leak…damn automatic seatbelts!!!
I have the same problem on both my 2dr and 4dr tegs. I think it is coming in from the roof seams. I bought some seam sealer from the local bodyshop supply but it’s been too cold for me to dig out the old stuff and replace with some new sealer.
my corner piece is loose too… its supposed to be 65 out tomorrow so maybe i’ll take the hose to it and see if i can find anything. bubbadabulldawg - did u ever get the sealer on to see if it helped?
No not yet working 2 yobs 65 hours a week and cold weather doesn’t leave me much time to do anything
anyone have a solution to this?
open your hatch and pull back the plastic panneling on the left wall. there is a (dirty) clear plastic tube in there. that is your sunroof drain and it may be disconnected or plugged up. this is the only place where i know how to acess it. some thing happened to my 2.5rs and it started leaking out by the dside visor, because snow/ice blocked up the drain tube. hope this helps

Neither of my tegs have sunroofs that’s why I figured it is the roof seam
It is possible coming from the roof seams. I poured water around the sunroof nothing is leaking then I pour some more water into the roof seam it starts to pour water inside so it’s possible there’s a hole under the seam that needs to be sealed. I’m going to remove the seam and see if I can locate the hole and try it again to see if it stops the leak.
hey guys, I had this EXACT same problem as well, water would come POURING in onto my window switches and all over my dash so my dad and I pulled up the rubber strip at the very top of the windshield and for me at least, there were 2 little rust holes right above where the rear view mirror was…all i did was filled that little channel with silicone and put the seal back in…and VOILA! no more leak
