HELP.
Ok well I go through the car wash all the time when I dont have time to wash the car as this paint job is on its way out.
Never had a SINGLE leak in this car except in the trunk where the idiot previous owner used woodscrews to hold down the sub box (which broke loose and now there is 3 small holes!!) anyway the problem is I went through and on my way out water just started pouring down out of that white thing (if you look under dash, white plastic box dont know whats in it never had to fix anything on that side of car) and it seems to come from that or above it.
Anyway it just poured alll over her feet and jacket she had on the floor.
What could this be? Anyone else have this problem? How do I fix it…not a good problem I can handle minor probelms btu this is bigger then minor.
Thanks,
Chado
I’ll tell you what it is. On your passenger side just in front of the windshield is the heater/air conditioning intake. This is a vent that sucks fresh air into the cabin. Usually water does not leak into this hole because it is first covered by a cover shell and the secondly covered by the windshield wiper cowl.
You have two ways to fix this:
The easy way. Go to Schucks and get a tube of clear flowable silicone. Run a thick bead of silicone along the base of your windshield/top of your cowl. Because you have the flowable silicone it will seep into the the cracks and make it seal. You might want to do a little, let it sit, & do some more.
The hard way involves taking off the wiper cowl & the intake cowl. This is more thorough but you risk breaking pieces. Also if you take it off you can really see what you are dealing with. When you take all this stuff off you will want to put everything back together neatly w/ thick black silicone. You’ll surely need to buy some new clips and what-not from acura.
I’ve noticed that only under certain circumstances does it leak. ie just because it leaked in the car wash doesn’t mean it will leak in the rain or something. Also, when mine was leaking it only really leaked into the cabin after a really hard rain and then when I turned on the heater fan. I went ahead and did it the hard way. I actually replaced everything w/ new parts (wiper cowl, intake cover, all new clips, etc). That cost me probably $200 for everything.

Thanks leif!
I’ll see about doing it the easy way as a quick fix.
Never has done it before and hasn’t done it tonight (pouring rain tonight)
Just this one time in the premium wash (washes car twice, then waxes, then clear coats) so maybe it was just the non stop pour and the fact that I had the heater vents on?
I usually have it set to flow around the inside of the car and no fan…never leaked…first time I put the vents on it leaks…go figure right?
Thanks again,
